Community Hike & 30th Anniversary BBQ

Established in 1995, the Ethiopian Association of Kitchener-Waterloo has had an evolving journey—sometimes active, sometimes quiet—but always rooted in community.

As we reflect on nearly 30 years of presence, we invite you to join us for a community hike and BBQ celebration. This is a time to reconnect, honour the association’s history, and look ahead to a stronger, more active future together.

Join us at Huron Natural Area (801 Trillium Dr, Kitchener) for a Hike at 4pm sharp followed by a BBQ at RBJ Schlegel Park (1664 Huron Rd).

We look forward to seeing you!

Summer Outdoor Drop-In Soccer Has Kicked Off!

We began our Summer Outdoor Soccer on June 28. Community members came out in great numbers, the weather was warm and welcoming, and a big shoutout goes to the Tena Men’s Soccer Team for their support and participation.

A big thank you to everyone who came, played, volunteered, or just cheered from the sidelines. These gatherings are for all of us—and we look forward to more beautiful Saturdays together.

A Special Invitation for Mothers and Women (Inspired by a community member, Beza)

While the children are enjoying their soccer games, we warmly invite all mothers and women in our community to take part in a wellness-focused group activity on the field.

This is a special time just for you—to move, stretch, breathe, and take care of your body and connect in a supportive space.

No experience is needed.
